How to Use Strawberry Glaze? [ + Easy Recipe]
Have you ever heard of or tried preparing strawberry glaze? Is quite similar to the strawberry jam but not quite the same. The texture is different as the strawberry glaze is thicker and has solid pieces of strawberry, while the jam is more thin and jelly. Maybe you will ask: how to use strawberry glaze?
You can prepare cakes, ice-creams, or cheesecakes with a homemade strawberry glaze. You can prepare strawberry yogurts or use them to decorate donuts or cake pops or just to fill a small pie. If the strawberry glaze is store-bought, you can use it to consume fresh bread or prepare quick cheesecake tacos.
For all the ideas I mentioned above, I have talked in more detail, where I have shortly described how to implement strawberry glaze in those recipes in the quickest, most efficient, and cheapest way.
How to Use Store-bought Strawberry Glaze?
Use store-bought strawberry glaze similarly as you would use strawberry jam or strawberry compote. You don’t need to heat it, whip it or manipulate it in any way. Simply pour strawberry glaze over your best dessert, a slice of bread, or anything else you like to eat with strawberries.
To make it easier for you, I listed and explained two of my favorite uses of store-bought strawberry glaze.
With Bread and Butter
The most french way of consuming it will be to put it on the top of a bread accompanied by butter. It does not need to serve strawberry glaze, only infancy, and different recipes.
Sometimes the simplicity is better and far more delicious. This is an excellent idea for breakfast, late-night snacks, or even when you travel.
You buy a jar of strawberry glaze and prepare the quick meal anywhere you can be.
Cheesecake Tacos
A unique idea for parties, for small buffets, is cheesecake tacos. You take some taco shells, fill them with cream cheese, and put a layer of strawberry glaze on top of it.
It will look very atypic as people expect to see taco shells filled with vegetables, meat, and guacamole, and instead, they will find cream and strawberry glaze. As store-bought strawberry glaze is thicker, it can stay better inside the taco shell.
How to Use Homemade Strawberry Glaze?
Homemade strawberry glaze is usually less sweet than store-bought strawberry glaze. It is also more liquid and lighter, but you will taste the actual strawberries more easily. This is why I prefer homemade glaze over the store-bought one.
Use homemade strawberry glaze on your cake, ice cream, yogurt, donuts, cake pops, as pie filling, or on cookies. Just like store-bought one, homemade strawberry glaze doesn’t require whipping, reheating, or anything. However, if the recipe calls for baking a dessert with the glaze on it, feel free to do it.
Decorate Cakes
The strawberry glaze can be used in fancy or simple cakes. You may ask, as a frosting or also in the cake dough? I would say in both of them. If you create a strawberry glaze with a creamy texture, you can put a small quantity of glaze in your cake.
It will end up coloring the cake and giving a strawberry taste. If you do that, adjust the extra sugar that you will add, as the glaze itself has a good amount of sugar.
Ice Cream
You can use the strawberry glaze to serve some homemade vanilla ice cream. Just put some scoops of ice cream in a bowl, drop some spoons of strawberry glaze on it and let it slip spontaneously into the ice cream. You can serve it also with some cookie crumbs or any extra fruit that I may want.
Pour It on Cheesecake
If you don’t have any free time to prepare a homemade cheesecake, you can buy a good one in a patisserie and decorate it with strawberry glaze. However, you can have more elegant fruits before preparing the glaze for this occasion, so it looks prettier.
But if you want to do a homemade cheesecake, there is still the option to mix a little from strawberry glaze to make the strawberry dominate in the cream cheese you will prepare.
Eat It with Yogurt
A simple snack I would never say no to is some greek yogurt mixed with strawberry puree. In this case, you can combine the greek yogurt with strawberry glaze and create a creamy texture that will refresh your palate after a full meal or just any moment you are hungry.
Another possibility is mixing the strawberry glaze with greek yogurt, just a little lemon juice, and putting it in the freezer to create nice ice cream. This quick recipe is perfect for hot summer days when you want to consume something different.
Strawberry Donuts Glaze
Again, like in the case of cheesecake, you can improvise with a bought donut or create your recipe. But to dip the donut in the strawberry glaze, you need to blend the glaze until you make a creamy and homogeneous mass.
To do that, you have to be careful about the quantities of water and strawberries. As I said, it needs to be creamy; I would suggest putting less water than in the original recipe.
Decoration on Cake Pops
The same cream as in donuts can also be used to cover cake pops. Who would not love a cake pop with strawberry flavor? The pink color makes it perfect for making birthday tables look appealing.
To make it a strawberry bomb, you can also prepare the pop itself with a strawberry taste, and when consumed, you will feel the strawberry cake and glazing mixing in your mouth.
As a Pie Filling
Many people love pies, and they love them more because they are easy to prepare. A strawberry glazed pie recipe is easy because the glaze itself does not need more than 20 minutes to be prepared. You need to prepare or buy a pie crust and fill it with strawberry glaze, and the pie is ready to be consumed.
Make Refreshing Drink
You can mix one tablespoon of strawberry glaze with water and ice, and get yourself a refreshing drink. Alternatively, check out this recipe to find out how to make strawberry horchata.
Put It on Cookies
You can also end up preparing ricotta cookies. All you need to do is mix butter, sugar, egg, ricotta, flour, and baking powder. You can give it any shape you want when you have the dough and bake them for 15 minutes. After the decoration is made with strawberry glaze, you can let them cool.
How to Make the Strawberry Glaze?
Maybe after reading how many amazing things you can do with strawberry glaze, you may assume that it will be a complicated recipe, but it cannot be easier than this.
Buy some soft and fresh strawberries, some cornstarch, and sugar. Start by mixing sugar and cornstarch in a bowl, letting them boil for a second, and then adding some water and chopped strawberries.
You will leave this mass to be cooked for three to six minutes and when you feel it’s ready, let it fully cool before using it. This was it, this simple.
How Long Does Strawberry Glaze Last?
Strawberry glaze lasts up to 5 days in the refrigerator if you keep it in an airtight container. Alternatively, you can freeze it and it will last for 3 months.
