It’s surprising how versatile red velvet cake mix is. Using this fantastic cake mix, you can make both sweet and salty versions of waffles, cookies, bars, brownies, and cinnamon rolls, but also a whole cheesecake or delicious deep-fried Oreos.

I hope this gives you some ideas for what you can make with a red velvet cake mix. I love using cake mixes to create fun and easy recipes, and these are some of my favorites.

Red Velvet Cake Mix Waffles

Red Velvet Cake Mix Waffles

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the red velvet cake mix box was red velvet waffles. I’m sure you can imagine how they’d turn out — absolutely delicious. This is a perfect breakfast for a special occasion or even just a weekend morning.

To prepare these delicious waffles, you will need some flour, eggs, milk, oil, and, of course, the cake mix.

To make them, first, preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat. Then, in a large bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients while using a separate bowl for the liquid ingredients. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Finally, fold in the cake mix until evenly distributed.

Pour some of the batter (about 1/4 cup) onto the center of your waffle iron and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the waffle is golden brown and cooked through. Serve immediately with butter and syrup or your favorite toppings.

Red Velvet Cake Mix Waffles and Chicken

One of my favorite recipes to make with a red velvet cake mix is waffles and chicken.

The recipe is simple: I just make the waffles, as I explained above, and then I fry up some chicken breasts and serve them on top. It’s a great way to enjoy a classic dish with a fun twist.

Preparing the chicken breasts is also super easy. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Pour 1 cup of buttermilk over them and let them marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours. While the chicken breasts are marinating, you should prepare the mixture to cover them with before frying.

To do this, mix paprika, onion, garlic powder, dry oregano, dried parsley, and dried thyme. Add this spice mixture to flour and baking powder.

Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies

Red velvet cake mix cookies are one of my favorite things to make.

They’re effortless to make, and the result is always a crowd-pleaser. Plus, they’re perfect for when you need a quick dessert that doesn’t require a lot of time or effort.

All you need to make them is a red velvet cake mix, eggs, butter, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix everything together according to the instructions on the cake mix box, and then drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a baking sheet. Make sure to space them out, so they don’t get too crowded in the oven.

Bake them for about 10 minutes or until they’re a light golden brown, then let them cool on a wire rack. Serve them with a dollop of whipped cream or some chocolate sauce, and you’re good to go!

Red Velvet Cake Mix Deep-Fried Oreos

Red Velvet Cake Mix Deep-Fried Oreos

I’m always on the lookout for exciting recipes, and when I saw that you could make deep-fried Oreos with a red velvet cake mix, I knew I had to give it a go.

The recipe is really simple — you just need some oil for frying, milk, egg, Oreos, and the cake mix. I tweaked the recipe a bit to make it my own, and the result was delicious. If you’re looking for a fun and easy dessert to make, I definitely recommend giving this recipe a try.

All you need to do is make a thin batter with the red velvet cake mix and then dip your Oreos into it and get them nice and crispy. Pro tip: make sure to mop up any excess batter before deep frying them to prevent the Oreos from sticking to one another.

Get your oil hot and fry each cookie for about 30 seconds on each side. Once they’re done, let them cool and enjoy them with a side of ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Yum!

Red Velvet Cake Mix Bars

Red Velvet Cake Mix Bars

I love making red velvet cake mix bars; they are always appealing. All you have to do is prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the package, pour it into a greased and floured 9×13 inch baking pan, and bake it at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.

When done, let the cake cool completely before cutting it into bars. These bars are perfect for lunchboxes or after-school snacks and are full of flavor!

They also look great in a standing glass dish. The combination of red velvet and cream cheese frosting is irresistible! You can even decorate them with sprinkles or crushed candy canes for a festive treat.

It may sound strange, but trust me, these red velvet cinnamon rolls are so good! All you have to do is make the dough by adding some yeast and flour to your red velvet cake mix and then roll out the dough.

Next, spread it with a thin layer of melted butter and sprinkle with a generous amount of cinnamon sugar. Then roll up the dough and cut it into slices. Finally, place the slices in a greased baking dish and bake according to the instructions on the box.

The resulting cinnamon rolls are incredibly soft and fluffy, with just enough sweetness from the cake mix and just enough spice from the cinnamon sugar. And if you want to get fancy, you can even top them off with cream cheese frosting for an extra special treat!
