Have you tried the famous Jersey Mike’s subs? These amazing sandwiches originating from Manasquan, New Jersey, are among my comfort food favorites. The place is kind of my personal sub hub. They include many delicious ingredients that can be combined in numerous ways. Still, they wouldn’t be complete without a sauce.

Jersey Mike’s list of sauces includes BBQ, Marinara, Ranch, Thousand Islands, and Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, as well as Deli, Regular, and Honey Mustard. If you appreciate some mayonnaise in your sandwich, you may also choose between Regular and Chipotle Mayo.

To help you choose the sauce that suits your tastes best and enjoy these subs to the fullest, I have created a short guide to sauces for Jersey Mike’s subs. So, let’s dive into all the delicious options!

List of Jersey Mike’s Sauces

To learn about these mouthwatering Jersey Mike’s sauces and their perfect pairings, take a look at the following lines. These sauce options are perfect to make every sub a true food experience!

BBQ Sauce

With tangy and smoky notes, this BBQ sauce is a flavor amplifier. It pairs especially well with any type of grilled meat, adding moisture to chicken and flavor to beef.

As a fan of BBQ sauce in general, I rarely miss out on the opportunity to add it to my sub, even if it doesn’t contain any grilled meat. This is how I found it goes great with pastrami or capocollo ham.

Ranch

Refreshing and energizing, Jersey Mike’s Ranch is the most versatile of all. You can combine it with any and all menu items. The only thing you don’t have to pair it with is the Bacon Ranch Chicken Cheese Steak because it’s already there!

If you’re looking for a lighter version of a sub, though, with ingredients such as cheese, bacon, and white bread, this Ranch may be a bit over-the-top addition. However, if you’re hungry and need a hearty meal, you will enjoy the combination of crunchy, creamy, and buttery textures.

Bleu Cheese

Bleu Cheese Sauce is a legend — my go-to Jersey Mike’s order for it is the Buffalo Cheese Steak sub. In addition to containing blue cheese, milk, and butter, this sauce has a specific moldy, buttery flavor, and it pairs heavenly with chicken.

Like many other Jersey Mike’s subs, this sandwich also contains tomatoes and lettuce, which give it a delicious crunch and make an especially delicious combination with this delicious cheesy sauce. However, the flavor is quite earthy and unique, so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Frank’s Red Hot Sauce

Frank’s Red Hot Sauce is one of the condiments that are not available in every Jersey Mike’s location. I had to explore all the locations close to me to know which offered it. This hot sauce usually comes in Buffalo Cheese Steak, and the two pair up nicely since the steak contains no onions or pepper.

Frank’s Red Hot is a staple for cooking the steak to give it that much-welcomed spicy kick coming from cayenne pepper. However, you can also use this sauce as a topping, and some Jersey Mike’s stores offer it alongside the Bleu Cheese Sauce — the combo is amazing because the two balance each other out perfectly.

It’s also available on Amazon, so you can easily replicate the steak flavors at home!

Marinara Sauce

Marinara Sauce holds a special place in my heart; it’s also available only at some Jersey Mike’s locations, so you have to check if your chosen one holds it.

It’s usually served in a Pepperoni Pizza sub — here, Marinara is like the last piece of a puzzle, perfectly complementing a meatball sandwich that, aside from ham, contains provolone cheese.

The sub may seem pretty basic, but if you try it with rosemary parmesan bread, it’s a culinary experience!

Thousand Island

Thousand Island Dressing comes with Grilled Pastrami Reuben sub. Here, it’s combined with pastrami, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut. Made with mayo, garlic, lemon, orange juice, paprika, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, chilly, tabasco, ketchup, tomato puree, and mustard, this sauce makes a true fusion of flavors.

It’s not available everywhere, so if you are near Jersey Mike’s location that offers Grilled Pastrami Reuben, consider yourself lucky, and do not miss your chance to try it out.

Deli, Regular, and Honey Mustard

Mustard is, in most cases, a part of cooked meals. However, Jersey Mike’s also serves it with the Cuban sub. This special sandwich has Swiss cheese, ham, and salami. Regular Mustard adds a tangy and creamy flavor to the sandwich, making it stand out from the regular items on the menu, and if I didn’t like to try out new things, this one would definitely be my regular order.

Deli Sub makes a flawless addition to the Famous Philly Sub, and it really is as good as people say it is. Another option is Honey Mustard, the sweet tanginess of which goes well with almost every sub since its perfect match is meat.

Does Jersey Mike’s Have Mayo?

Mayonnaise is an essential ingredient in almost every type of sandwich, and it’s no different in Jersey Mike’s subs. This sandwich shop offers Regular and Chipotle Mayo.

The creamy and tangy Regular Mayo is typically found in the Tuna Fish sub, Club, Club Supreme, and California Chicken Cheese Steak Sub, while the mildly spicy Chipotle Mayo is included in the Chipotle Cheese Steak. And making a sub combo with both of these types of mayo is perfect for days when you just need something simple and delicious.

But do you think choosing Mayo at Jersey Mike’s is playing it safe? I’ve been discussing this with my friend, who claims it’s boring and uneventful — give me a piece of your thoughts in the comments below!
