You don’t have to be a top chef or star in a cooking show to create something impressive in the kitchen. From weeknight dinners to Sunday brunch, there is one sure way to elevate your cuisine that’s as easy as picking up a jar: Ragu Alfredo Sauce. The creamy combination of cheese, cream, and spices makes it hard to go wrong with Alfredo sauce. But why stop at ‘good’ when you can make something truly extraordinary? So, how to use Ragu Alfredo Sauce and make it better?

You can use Ragu Alfredo Sauce in pasta dishes, to top your pizza, or with some seafood or fish dishes. To make it even better, you can add some fresh herbs, vegetables, and spices like red pepper flakes or Parmesan cheese.

In this article, I’ll share five simple ideas for making Ragu Alfredo Sauce even better. Whether you’re looking for an indulgent weeknight dinner idea or an appetizer that packs more punch than store-bought chips and dip, we’ve got you covered. With a few tips and tricks, you can take your culinary expertise – and your dishes – up a notch.

How to Use Ragu Alfredo Sauce?

You don’t need to cook Ragu Alfredo Sauce. However, the directions on the jar suggest that you heat the sauce on the stovetop or in the microwave for the best results. You simply pour it over your meal, and let it start to simmer to make sure that it is heated through while stirring occasionally.

This sauce combines cream and cheese with garlic, onion, parsley, and other herbs to create the perfect balance of flavors. Cheese and cream in its content mean that it needs to be refrigerated right after opening.

Ragu Alfredo Sauce is a creamy and delicious Italian cooking classic when used correctly. Now, I’ll share with you five of my favorite ways to elevate your alfredo game! It has a creamy yet slightly tangy flavor that goes well with everything from chicken to fish to vegetables.

What Is Ragu Alfredo Sauce Used For?

On its own, Ragu Alfredo sauce is an excellent option for an easy weeknight dinner. But you can also up your culinary game with a few simple additions. You can use Ragu Alfredo sauce to elevate any dish with just a few extra ingredients.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Create a creamy mac and cheese by adding cooked macaroni noodles and shredded cheese.
  • Make a veggie-packed Alfredo pasta bake by adding mixed vegetables and cooked chicken cubes.
  • Top off your favorite pizza with an Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce for a decadent twist on an Italian classic.
  • Add white fish like cod for an easy meal with bold flavor.
  • Turn up the heat with sauteed shrimp and spicy red pepper flakes for your next dinner party.

How to Make Ragu Alfredo Sauce Better?

I’m sure you’ve had Ragu Alfredo sauce before – it’s creamy, delicious, and comfort food that the whole family will love. But if you’re looking to take your cuisine up a notch, try these tips for making Ragu Alfredo sauce even better.

Add Fresh Herbs

Adding some fresh herbs can really take your dish to the next level. My favorite herbs to use with my Ragu Alfredo Sauce are basil, oregano, thyme, and parsley. I like adding them at the end so that their flavor is still fresh, not cooked out of them.

My go-to combination is a tablespoon of each herb, finely chopped and added right before serving. Besides the flavor boost they provide, they also add a burst of color to make your plate even more appealing.

You can also get creative by trying different combinations – go for mint and dill with salmon filet or rosemary and sage with roasted vegetables. Experimenting with other herbs can give you a unique twist on an otherwise classic dish.

Add Spices

If you’re looking to take things up a notch, then it’s time to start thinking about adding some spice to your Ragu Alfredo sauce. Adding some spice can make your Ragu Alfredo sauce even more delicious. Try adding some crushed red pepper for a bit of heat or some cayenne pepper for a subtle kick. You could also add some black pepper or smoked paprika to give it more depth.

I love topping my Alfredo dishes with a generous sprinkle of red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese for a spicy kick and extra flavor. Depending on how spicy you like your food, you can adjust the amount of red pepper flakes you add, but I recommend starting with a small sprinkle and adding more if necessary.

Red pepper flakes also add an interesting visual element to your dish. The bright red color will make for a delicious presentation, and the spicy kick will be a pleasant surprise for anyone expecting just plain Alfredo sauce.

Add Fresh Veggies

It’s easy to forget about veggies when cooking pasta dishes, but adding them in will make your meal more nutritious – plus, they add great flavor!

Try adding frozen peas or corn during the last few minutes of boiling your pasta or sauteing mushrooms or onions in a little olive oil and garlic until they’re golden brown. If you’re feeling adventurous, you could also try adding some diced bell peppers for a pop of color.

Sautéed mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, or tomatoes all add lovely texture and sweetness that can really amp up the flavor of the dish.

Finish With Parmesan Cheese

Consider adding a little parmesan cheese if you want to take your Ragu Alfredo sauce up a notch. Parmesan cheese has a wonderfully nutty and salty flavor that pairs perfectly with the richness of the Alfredo sauce. Plus, it’s an easy way to give the dish a bit of extra zing without changing too much.

One of my favorite tricks to incorporate parmesan is to sprinkle some over the finished dish before serving. Because parmesan is strong and flavorful, you don’t need too much to make it work – just a light dusting will do! This is also an easy way to add texture and visual appeal to your plate; who doesn’t love seeing those golden shavings glistening on their food?

If extra cheesiness is what you crave, you can use grated parmesan in the sauce itself during cooking. Start by melting two tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium heat, then add a tablespoon of minced garlic and cook until the garlic is fragrant. Next, whisk in one cup of heavy cream – or skip this step if your Ragu Alfredo sauce already contains cream – and one cup of grated parmesan cheese. Simmer until everything is thoroughly combined and the cheese has melted; top with more parmesan shavings before serving for that golden finish!
