Costco Lobster Tails Cooking Instructions

Cooking Costco Lobster tails couldn’t be simpler. All you need is a few basic kitchen tools and ingredients to get started. It’s best to use fresh or frozen lobster tails from Costco, but you can also substitute with pre-cooked lobster meat if that’s all you have available.

When it comes to tools, you will need a baking sheet and a sharp knife, while the ingredients are really optional.

Still, I like using garlic powder, unsalted butter, lemon/orange juice, kosher or sea salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Cooking Costco Lobster Tails is actually surprisingly easy!

All you need to do is make sure that the lobster tails are thawed out, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), and then get ready to cook.

Step 1: Thawing the Tails

The best way to thaw your lobster tails is in the refrigerator — your lobster will seem like it just came out of the sea. Place the tails in a sealed container and let them sit overnight.

It’s essential not to use methods like microwaving or thawing underwater because these can cause the delicate flesh to overcook.

Step 2: Preparing the Tails

Once your lobster tails are thawed, it’s time to get prepping! You’ll need a sharp knife to split each tail down its length. Still, be careful not to cut through the tail completely, and make sure you leave the fan shell on one side intact. This will help keep all of those delicious juices inside while they cook.

Then, brush softened unsalted butter over them and sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. You can also pour some lemon or orange sauce on top or leave it later for the serving.

Next, place the cut tails side-up onto a baking sheet and bake them for 15-20 minutes or until the shells turn bright red.

How to Serve Costco Lobster Tails?

Now that you know how to cook Costco lobster tails, the next step is to decide what to serve them with!

Side dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and a salad are great accompaniments. Toss them together in a pan and sauté with garlic butter, and you’ve got yourself a delicious meal. It all just depends on your personal preference.

If you want something a little more creative, you can try plenty of twists on classic lobster tail recipes.

Lobster tails also pair nicely with rice or pasta. Whether it’s an exciting addition to your favorite Paella recipe or served over linguine in an Alfredo sauce, adding some cooked lobster tails will take your dish to the next level.

Surprisingly enough, lobster tail makes a great sandwich! Heat the lobster tail and layer it onto some crusty bread with lettuce, tomatoes, and mayonnaise!
