To prepare Costco Kirkland chicken breasts, you can either bake, grill, or fry them. Depending on the cooking method, the preparation of this meal lasts from 10 to 30 minutes. 

Kirkland chicken breasts from Costco are a delicious and healthy option. They are packed with various vitamins, minerals, and proteins, which makes them a great addition to your diet and shopping list.

Cooking Instructions for Costco Kirkland Chicken Breasts

I prepared for you basic instructions for cooking our favorite chicken breasts, but I also added my twists to make them even better.

If you wish to make the meat deliciously soft, try marinating it a couple of hours before cooking. To create the marinade, mix up some soya sauce, ketchup, ginger and garlic paste, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander, cloves, and cumin. Dip chicken breasts in the mixture, cover it and refrigerate for around 2 hours.

After that, you can cook them right away. Before marinating, you can also cut chicken breasts into filets. Coat filets with a mixture of spices, all-purpose and corn flour and fry them. You can also experiment and cook it in coconut milk or fresh cream, or simply add some butter. 

In the oven

To bake Kirkland chicken breasts in the oven, preheat the oven to 350 °F. Season the chicken breasts, place them on a lightly oiled roasting pan, and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. 

It is important to note that salt, pepper, oregano, basil, ginger, chili powder, cumin, cayenne, and garlic are spices that pair well with both dark and white chicken meat, and you will not go wrong with whichever you choose.

On the stove

If you prefer fried Kirkland chicken breast add several drops of oil to the pan and preheat it to medium-high. Place seasoned meat in the skillet and fry it for up to 15 minutes. A golden crust indicates that the meat is done.

To ensure chicken breasts are cooked properly, you can also use an instant-read thermometer. If the internal temperature of the meat has reached 165 °F, the meat is ready.

Besides the stove, Kirkland chicken breasts are suitable for the grill and air fryer. Preparation will take 18-20 minutes.

How to Reheat Costco Chicken Breast?

Reheating chicken breasts without drying them out can be tricky. The best option to achieve that is to microwave them. 

So, place the meat on a plate suitable for microwaving and cover it with damp paper. Microwave chicken breasts at medium-high for 3-5 minutes or until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 165 °F. 

Avoid reheating Costco chicken breasts in the oven. It will dry out the meat and add up to your energy bill.

What to Serve with Costco Chicken Breast?

The great thing about chicken breasts is that you can pair them with different side dishes. You can serve it with any kind of rice or noodles. Mashed potatoes and oven-cooked veggies are also good options.

Frying up some carrot or asparagus with garlic can complete your Costco chicken meal pretty swiftly.  

However, if you are in the mood for something different, serving Costco chicken breast with garlic bread, greek yogurt, or creamy cucumber salad may be a good idea. It will give your meal a Mediterranean note.

In case you are looking for other green options, try making the winter salad with roasted Beets, butternut squash, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, and a Dijon dressing.

And, if you are up for an Italian twist, Caprese salad with cherry tomato, basil, mozzarella cheese, and olive oil might be a perfect match to freshly cooked Kirkland chicken breasts.

Another great dish to serve with chicken breasts is a veggie casserole. It is a budget-friendly and colorful meal you can make with tomato, zucchini, onion, garlic, olive oil, and various spices. You can also add eggplant or bell pepper and create a meal pleasing to all senses.

How Long Does Costco Chicken Breast Last?

After you purchase chicken breasts from the store, you should either freeze or refrigerate them if you do not intend to cook them. Raw Costco chicken breasts will last 1 or 2 days in the refrigerator. Raw chicken breasts can last in the freezer from 9 to 12 months.

Cooked Costco chicken breasts can last around 4 months in the freezer. That is a practical option, too. All you need is to microwave them, and you will have a meal in a few minutes.

  • 1 non-stick pan

Ingredients
  

  • 30 oz Costco Kirkland chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp oil Use vegetable oil or olive oil.
  • cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • cup ketchup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • tsp dry ground ginger
  • dash of ground cumin
  • 1 clove pressed garlic or finely minced

Instructions
 

  • Thaw the chicken breasts. The best way to do that is to leave the chicken breasts in the refrigerator overnight. Alternatively, use the "Defrosting" mode on the microwave.
  • Make the marinade by mixing the following ingredients: soy sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, ginger, cumin and garlic.
  • Pour the marinade over the chicken breasts and mix well, so the chicken absorbs the flavors. Leave it like that for at least 2 hours.
  • Heat up the oil in a non-stick pan. The heat shouldn't be too high because we want to avoid chicken being uncooked inside.
  • Bake the chicken breasts. When they get golden brown color, they are done. It will take you about 15 minutes. Just don't flip them constantly, so they don't dry out. Flip them only when you think that they are done on one side.
  • Serve chicken breasts with your favorite side!
