You’d be hard-pressed to find a Chinese restaurant that doesn’t serve General Tso’s chicken, and why wouldn’t they? The dish is one of America’s favorite Chinese dishes; not serving it wouldn’t make sense at all.
But what if you don’t feel like spending the extra money on eating out? Sure, you can make the sauce yourself, but what if you don’t have the time for that either? If you’re having a midweek meal-planning time crunch, you need a quicker solution – a premade sauce.
To help you make your meal prep more manageable, I’ve compiled a small list of places for you to buy General Tso sauce.

The online retail behemoth can either be your best friend or enemy when it comes to your General Tso sauce search. You’ll undoubtedly find loads of options when you search for the sauce, but you won’t know which ones you’ll like.
Searching on Amazon is ideal if you know which brands you prefer and just need to order them quickly. But if you’re just starting out and still need to find the one true sauce for you, Iron Chef General Tso’s Sauce is among the most popular ones.
Your Local Oriental Supermarket
If you live near an oriental supermarket or within a reasonable driving distance of one, they might be worth visiting. They’ll have a selection of sauces for you, some of which may not be mainstream enough to be sold at a regular supermarket.

Trader Joe’s
Got a Trader Joe’s nearby, or perhaps you’re making a special trip to stock up on some of their seasonal items? Either way, you’ll be pleased to know that Trader Joe’s sells their own bottle of General Tso’s sauce.
Priced at $2.99 (at the time of writing this article) for a 12.35-ounce bottle, their General Tsao Stir Fry sauce is well-received by buyers. (BTW, note the spelling!) If you find them in-store, stock up on a few bottles in case they run out.
