What Sauces Does Checkers Have, Taste Test & Pairings
My absolute favorite part about getting takeout from Checkers is cracking open those little dipping sauce packets. They have a fantastic lineup of flavors perfect for dunking fries, coating chicken tenders, or drizzling over a burger. That’s why you should always make sure to include them in your order! So, what sauces does Checkers have?
Checkers’ Sweet & Smoky BBQ Sauce is definitely a staple, but they also offer Angry and Medium Buffalo Sauces, Parmesan Garlic Sauce, Ranch Dressing and Ranch Dip, Honey Mustard, Blue Cheese Dip, and Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce.
Whether you like it hot, sweet, or savory, Checkers has a little something for every taste. In this article, I’ll give you the inside scoop on all the sauces from my personal taste tests, let you know how spicy they really are, and suggest some drool-worthy pairings.
List of Checkers Dipping Sauces
Personally, I’m always looking for an excuse to dip my burgers and fries in delicious sauces, and Checkers certainly doesn’t disappoint with their wide range of options. Whether you like it hot, mild, tangy, or creamy, they’ve got you covered.
You can’t go wrong with so many tasty sauces to choose from!
Sweet & Smoky BBQ Sauce
The Sweet & Smoky BBQ is perfect if you like the flavor of BBQ, but dislike the heat. As the name suggests, it has a nice blend of sweet and smoky notes from molasses, brown sugar, and spices like paprika and garlic.
Personally, I found this sauce to be on the thicker side, coating the fries and burgers well. The sweetness is prominent but not overpowering, balanced by the slight tang from tomatoes and vinegar. There’s a subtle kick from black pepper, but this sauce ranks lowest on Checkers’ heat scale.
For me, the Checkers Sweet & Smoky BBQ pairs best with a classic burger, crispy chicken tenders, steak fries, and onion rings. And just look at how luxurious it is!
Angry Buffalo and Medium Buffalo
If you like your wings with some kick, Checkers has you covered with their Angry and Medium Buffalo sauces. I’m a bit of a spice wimp, so the Medium Buffalo hits the sweet spot for me. The Angry Buffalo, on the other hand, is not for the faint of heart.
The Medium version has a nice blend of heat and flavor. You get hints of garlic, vinegar, and chili peppers with a spicy afterburn that builds as you eat more wings. It’s hot enough to satisfy buffalo wing cravings but won’t leave your mouth on fire. The creamy Blue Cheese Dip is perfect for cooling the burn.
Angry Buffalo sauce means business. This fiery concoction packs a punch of chili peppers, vinegar, and spices. The heat comes on fast and strong, leaving your lips tingling. So I decided to pair it with their Fry-Seasoned Monsterella Sticks and their Chicken Bites.
Parmesan Garlic
The Parmesan Garlic Sauce is for the garlic lovers among us. This creamy, tangy dip packs a ton of flavor from fresh garlic and herbs.
The blend of garlic, parmesan cheese, and herbs like parsley, oregano, and thyme creates an irresistible dipping experience for fries, chicken tenders, or onion rings. While the garlic flavor is prominent, it’s not overpowering, allowing the other ingredients to shine through.
It has a creamy, thick, and chunky texture from blended parmesan cheese, while the garlic provides a savory kick without being too spicy. I especially love the fresh herbs that balance the flavor and add an aromatic, earthy essence.
Ranch Dressing and Ranch Dipping Sauce
I’m a huge fan of Ranch, so I was excited to try the Checkers version. This cool, creamy concoction became my go-to for dipping fries, onion rings, and chicken tenders after the first dip!
This Ranch has a delicious blend of buttermilk, herbs like dill and chives, and spices that create a refreshing, tangy flavor with hints of garlic and onion. It’s lighter than a thick ranch dressing, perfect for dipping.
This versatile sauce pairs well with almost anything on Checkers’ menu. I highly recommend dipping french fries or onion rings, chicken tenders or sandwiches, and, of course, burgers. My absolute favorite, though, is combining it with fried mushrooms!
This mild, creamy dipping sauce has just a touch of spice from black pepper but no heat from chili peppers or hot sauce. It’s perfect for those avoiding spicy food and is kid-friendly too. For extra flavor without the burn, Ranch dressing is a great choice.
Blue Cheese Dipping Sauce
The Blue Cheese Sauce perfectly blends creamy and tangy flavors. The base is a thick blue cheese dressing made from buttermilk, mayonnaise, and crumbled blue cheese. The blue cheese provides a pungent, savory flavor balanced by the creaminess of the buttermilk and mayonnaise.
I paired this sauce with Checkers’ spicier menu items since the cooling creaminess helps balance the heat. Still, it’s also great for dipping classic chicken tenders, french fries, tater tots, or onion rings.
Honey Mustard Dipper
The Honey Mustard Dip has the perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavors that pair well with almost anything on the menu.
The honey provides a subtle sweetness, while the mustard adds a kick of spice and acidity. Combined, they create an irresistibly delicious dipping sauce. I like to describe the flavor as a savory-sweet combo with a bit of zing.
Checkers Honey Mustard is ideal for dipping your chicken tenders, french fries, and onion rings as a dipping sauce. The tangy, creamy sauce coats each bite. But it’s also tasty, drizzled on top of a salad, or used as a condiment for a burger or sandwich.
Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce
Frank’s Buffalo Hot Sauce is one spicy experience! As someone who likes a kick of heat, this is my go-to dipping sauce for chicken tenders or onion rings.
The flavor of Frank’s Buffalo is a blend of spicy chili peppers, vinegar, and garlic. The heat from the peppers is balanced nicely by the tartness of the vinegar.
You can really taste the cayenne and chili peppers coming through with each bite. The garlic adds an extra savory undertone without overpowering the other ingredients.
Frank’s Buffalo Sauce’s bold, spicy flavor pairs excellently with fried foods like chicken wings, tenders, and onion rings. I also like to dip french fries, mozzarella sticks, and jalapeño poppers in this sauce.
I also recommend serving it with a side of Ranch or Blue Cheese Dip. The creamy, cooling flavor of these two perfectly complements the Buffalo’s spiciness and cools it down. This makes it perfect for people who don’t like the heat or cannot stand it.
The best thing about this sauce is that you can get it off Amazon. It’s literally just a few clicks away!
