The Rock’s (54) Private Chef Reveals the Massive Amount of Food He Eats Every Day

Dwayne Johnson’s physique has become as much a part of his brand as any movie role, and maintaining it requires an amount of food that sounds almost fictional. The numbers come straight from Johnson himself, along with the family chef who helps make his most famous meals happen.
Between six and eight thousand calories a day during his heaviest training periods, spread across as many as seven or eight separate meals, eating has become something close to a full time job. None of it happens by accident.
None of it is a secret, either, since Johnson has been remarkably open about the details for years. Here is what an actual day of eating looks like for Dwayne Johnson.
The Numbers Are Almost Hard To Believe
At the height of his wrestling career, Johnson consumed between 6,000 and 8,000 calories a day, a level of intake he has said has stayed relatively consistent for the past five to ten years, according to Fox News. One detailed breakdown of a single day’s meals found the total protein intake reaching 426 grams, according to Athlean-X.
“I do eat five to six, sometimes seven meals a day,” Johnson told Delish, according to the same Fox News report. Journalists at FiveThirtyEight later calculated that a single day of eating like Johnson adds up to roughly 10 pounds of actual food.
A Day Of Eating Looks Like A Full Time Job
Breakfast typically starts with cream of rice or oatmeal alongside eggs and a serving of buffalo meat. Later meals rotate through fast digesting carbohydrates like white rice or sweet potato, paired consistently with a lean protein source like chicken, steak or cod.
Cod specifically shows up often enough that Johnson reportedly eats roughly a third of a ton of it in a single year. Meal prep alone takes serious time, with one journalist who tried following the plan for a month reporting he spent about an hour and a half every two to three days just preparing food.
The Chef Comes In For The Legendary Cheat Meals
While the daily meal plan mostly comes together through Johnson’s own routine, his family chef, Racquel Rockquemore Breiz, takes the lead on his infamous weekly cheat meals, according to Food Network. Johnson has dubbed himself the self proclaimed Cheat Meal King, regularly sharing the results with fans on social media.
Recurring favorites include coconut banana pancakes, bacon cheeseburgers and tequila cinnamon French toast, each one built with the same over the top energy as everything else about his diet. It is the one meal each week where the strict numbers stop mattering entirely.
Eating like The Rock, even for just one day, would be a genuinely exhausting and expensive undertaking for an ordinary person. For Johnson, it is simply Tuesday, backed by a routine he has stuck with for the better part of a decade.
