The Food Kim Kardashian Quietly Banned From Her Kids’ Lunches

Kim Kardashian’s own eating habits get picked apart constantly, from her private chef’s grocery list to whatever cleanse she’s mentioned that week. Far less attention goes to what actually shows up, or doesn’t, on her four kids’ plates.
A few scattered comments over the years piece together a clearer picture than any single interview ever has. What Kardashian keeps off her children’s plates says as much about her as anything she’s said about her own diet.
Meat Has Largely Disappeared From the Kids’ Plates
Kardashian revealed in a 2020 tweet that her children generally follow a plant-based diet, with one exception. “Yes they do! North is a pescatarian though,” she wrote, confirming that fish stays on the menu even as other meat has largely been phased out.
That distinction matters because it shows the restriction isn’t absolute. North still eats fish, reportedly favoring something as ordinary as a fast-food filet sandwich, while red meat, poultry, and pork appear to have quietly dropped off the family’s regular rotation. It reads less like a strict rule and more like a household default that happened to stick.
Halloween Candy Doesn’t Survive the Night
Candy is where Kardashian has been the most direct about drawing a hard line, at least after the trick-or-treating is over. Discussing her kids’ Halloween haul, she explained exactly what happens to it once they’re back home: “I take it and then throw it away. Or I donate it.”
That’s a real ban, not just a preference, and it applies specifically to the flood of candy that shows up one night a year rather than to sweets in general. Emptying out a candy bag the same night it’s collected removes the temptation before it has a chance to linger in a kitchen cabinet for weeks.
Everyday Candy Requests Are a Harder Line to Hold
Away from Halloween, Kardashian has admitted the candy rule gets a lot shakier. She told Parents magazine that her kids know exactly how to work around her resolve: “When my kids want something, typically candy, they give me this look directly in my eyes that cuts right through me.”
By her own account, that look usually wins. She’s said she needs to work on “being stricter and saying no,” which puts her in the same position as plenty of parents who set a rule with good intentions and then quietly bend it the moment it’s actually tested. The Halloween-candy purge stays firm mostly because it happens once a year, all at once, rather than in the smaller daily moments where resolve tends to slip.
