Classic Apple Hand Pies

Classic Apple Hand Pies

Every home baker should have a classic apple pie in their repertoire! This timeless and delicious combination of juicy apples, a hint of cinnamon, and a buttery crust never fails to delight.

The key to making your hand pies as tasty as possible is to use fresh apples and not skimp on the butter. Before adding the filling, brush the edges of the dough with an egg wash for an extra golden, glossy finish when it comes out of the oven.

My favorite way to serve these little beauties is warm with a dollop of cold cream for contrast in temperatures that will make your tastebuds sing!

Spiced pear and walnut hand pies are a delightful treat that combines sweet and savory flavors. The combination of soft, juicy pears with crunchy walnuts has a wonderful texture and taste.

To prepare the filling, you’ll need peeled and chopped pears, some ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, granulated sugar, and brown sugar mixed in one bowl. In a separate bowl, stir together chopped walnuts, flour, and melted butter.

Combine everything and let it cool for about an hour before using it to fill your prepared hand pies.

Raspberry-Lemon Cream Cheese Hand Pies

Here’s my favorite of all – the combination of sweet, tart, and creamy flavors in one pie filling. To make these pies, you will need the following ingredients: raspberry jam, lemon zest, cream cheese, sugar, and butter. Start by spreading a thick layer of raspberry jam inside each hand pie crust, then top with a layer of cream cheese mixed with lemon zest and sugar.

Finally, add a thin pat of butter and fold the crust over to seal in the filling. All left to do is bake these delicious hand pies and enjoy!

Peaches & Cream Hand Pies With Graham Cracker Crumble Topping

You only need fresh peaches, sugar, cream, and graham cracker crumbs.

First, dice some fresh peaches into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle with sugar and set aside 10 minutes until the peaches are juicy and tender. Then drain off any excess juice from the fruit.

Combine softened cream cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until it forms a creamy mixture.

Now it’s time to assemble the pies! Place one tablespoon of the peach filling onto half of a pastry round and top it with two tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Cover with another pastry round and crimp edges to seal. Brush on egg wash and sprinkle generously with graham cracker crumbs before baking.

Apricot-Ginger Hand Pies

Apricot Ginger Hand Pies

This flavor is incredibly delectable and packed full of sweet and tangy flavors. By combining fresh apricots with a nice kick of ginger, these pies can truly be classified as an indulgent treat.

I begin by precooking diced apricots with a small amount of water and some sugar in a saucepan until the apricots are soft. I then add freshly grated ginger, lemon juice & zest, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove to the mix and let it simmer for a few minutes more before removing it from the heat.

The combination of apricot ginger also offers a unique twist on an old classic, making these hand pies great for special occasions or everyday treats!

Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Hand Pies

If you’re looking for a special treat to wow your friends and family, salted caramel chocolate chip hand pies might just do the job. The combination of the sweet and salty flavors is unforgettable!

It’s simple: just fill each pie with a spoonful of melted caramel sauce and a handful of mini chocolate chips. Finally, sprinkle on some coarse sea salt before serving. If you want a bit of decadence, top each hand pie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Peach-Blueberry Hand Pies

I’m a big fan of peach-blueberry hand pies because they make a great summer pie. To make them, you just need to start with a simple dough and then fill it with the fresh flavors of summer: ripe peach slices and blueberries.

Adding a little flour to the fruit helps thicken up the filling and keeps it from making your pie soggy. You can also mix in some sugar and cinnamon for sweetness or even add a splash of brandy or orange juice for complexity.

These pies make great desserts, but you can also enjoy them for breakfast or afternoon snacks.

Banana Cream Filling Hand Pie

This hand pie recipe needs just a few simple ingredients: all-purpose flour, white sugar, baking powder, and unsalted butter for the dough, as well as slat mashed banana, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and some salt for the banana filling.

You can serve these tasty pies warm or cold, but they’re best when served with freshly whipped cream.

Cherry-Vanilla Filling Hand Pies

Not only can you make these ahead of time, but the combination of sweet and tart cherries with vanilla’s creamy and sweet flavor will surely tantalize anyone’s taste buds.

The smoothness of the vanilla pairs so well with the tartness of the cherries, making this flavor a go-to for any special occasion. Plus, you can customize it by adding flaky sea salt or even cinnamon sugar on top.
