Selena Gomez has built an empire around wellness adjacent branding, from a billion dollar makeup line to a hit cooking show. Her actual eating habits, according to the person who knows them best, look nothing like a curated wellness feed.

Her husband, music producer Benny Blanco, gave a surprisingly candid rundown of what she actually eats during a live taping of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop podcast. The audience, including Paltrow herself, seemed genuinely caught off guard.

None of it involves green juice or a strict meal plan. Here is what Selena Gomez actually eats, straight from the person cooking and ordering takeout for her.

Comfort Food Wins Every Time

“If I hit her with the steak night, I’m getting love,” Blanco said of Gomez’s food preferences, according to The Kitchn. He described her as wanting the steak, the potatoes and creamed spinach specifically, crediting her Texas roots for a genuine love of comfort food.

Fried chicken and French toast also rank high on her list of favorites. Gomez has been open about her own food preferences for years, telling Bon Appétit back in 2016 that her tour bus staples included hot Cheetos, chocolate and pickles.

The Jack In The Box Breakfast That Shocked Gwyneth Paltrow

Blanco told the live audience he walked in on Gomez eating Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning, joking that her diet resembles that of a five year old, according to Yahoo. Paltrow reportedly reacted with genuine shock, saying the habit was not Goop approved.

Gomez has publicly named Jack in the Box as her favorite fast food chain before, once telling Gordon Ramsay her order includes two tacos, two egg rolls, curly fries and a chicken sandwich. Her relationship with food has had a more serious side too, including a 2011 hospitalization tied to poor eating habits that she has spoken about since.

There Is One Healthy Habit That Actually Sticks

Despite the fast food reputation, Blanco said there is one healthy option Gomez genuinely enjoys, food from Goop’s own wellness focused takeout kitchen. Even then, he joked she tends to eat around the lettuce and skip most of the actual salad toppings.

Gomez has also leaned into cooking more seriously in recent years through her show Selena and Chef, even while joking about how little she actually learned, according to AOL. She has said she wishes she had more time to cook for friends and family, calling it one of her favorite things to do when her schedule allows.

Selena Gomez’s actual diet turns out to be a lot closer to comfort food and drive through breakfast than anything wellness branded. It just happens to come with a very public, very entertaining narrator in her own husband.
