What makes No Bake Oreo Cake special?

One of my favorite desserts to make is a No Bake Oreo cake, especially when I’m short on time. Not only is this oreo cake faster than making a traditional cake, but it also yields an incredibly tasty end product. Whether you want a quick snack or something impressive to serve your guests, this recipe has got you covered.

Besides, it is both delicious, but also incredibly simple to make. This cake is also so special because it omits cream cheese as an ingredient. While cream cheese is often used in this type of cake, I find that omitting it creates a lighter and fluffier texture to the final product.

Plus, with the Oreo cookies providing plenty of sweetness and crunch, there’s no need for additional ingredients. The cake itself has a silky smooth texture that melts in your mouth.

How to make No Bake Oreo Cake without cream cheese?

No Bake Oreo Cake is a quick, tasty, and exciting treat to make without cream cheese. It’s unique in that it uses just simple ingredients and a few steps to make an elegant cake that you can serve as a dessert on any occasion or just enjoy as a snack.

To get started, here’s what you’ll need:

The crust is super easy, as it only requires 4 oz (125 grams) of butter and 2 cups (230 grams) of oreo powder

For the cream, you will need ¾ cup (200 ml) of whipping cream, 10 fl oz (295 ml) milk, 6 fl oz (177 ml) milk, 4.5 oz (3 packages) of vanilla pudding powder (cook & serve type), 4 tbsps Nutella, and 6 tbsp (75 grams) sugar.

Now, the cooking begins!

Step 1: Making the pudding

In order to cook the pudding, you will, of course, need to follow the instructions from the package. However, this requires different amounts of milk and pudding powder since we will need a thicker cream than usual.

Start by heating up 10 fl oz of milk on medium-high heat. Then, mix 6 fl oz of milk with pudding powder and 6 tbsp of sugar. Make sure there are no crumbs left.

Once the milk is cooked, take it off the heat and then slowly pour the pudding mixture into it. Lower the heat and put everything back to boil for another 2-3 minutes until you get a thick cream. Make sure you constantly whisk everything to avoid burning it and creating crumbs.

Take it off the heat, and cover it with a cling foil so that the pudding doesn’t form a crust. Leave it in a cold place for at least 3 hours.

Note: You can also choose to use an instant pudding; however, in that case, you will need to buy enough of it for the 6-cup serving. Moreover, you only need to mix it with warm milk and half of the pudding with Nutella.

Using the instant pudding will save some time in its preparation and waiting for it to cool down.

Step 2: Making Oreo crust

While the pudding is cooling down, use the time to prepare the crust. Mix together Oreo powder and softened butter and press it to the bottom of the cake pan. To do this, you can use a spatula for help.

Put it in the fridge to firm.

Step 3: Preparing the cream and finishing the cake

Mix the whipping cream thoroughly and then whisk it with the cold pudding using a wooden spoon or anything but a mixer.

Put half of the cream mix across the Oreo crust while mixing the other half with Nutella. Once we get a nice cream, carefully spread it across the vanilla cream.

If you have any Oreo powder left, sprinkle it on top of the cake and then place the cake in the fridge for at least 4 hours in order for all the delicious tastes to blend together!

How to store No Bake Oreo Cake?

When it comes to storing this delicious No Bake Oreo cake, you don’t need to stress too much because it’s actually quite simple. Before you store it, make sure the cake has had a couple of hours to firm up in the fridge.

Ensure the cake has been chilled for several hours and is firm and cooled before transferring it to an airtight container.

Place parchment paper between layers of the cake if possible, as this helps keep them from sticking together and prevents sogging due to moisture in the air.

Cover your cake with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator, where it can stay fresh for up to five days. If you need longer storage time, put your covered cake in a freezer-safe bag or container and freeze it for up to three months before thawing overnight inside the refrigerator.

What to serve with No Bake Oreo Cake?

No Bake Oreo cake (without cream cheese) is incredibly versatile, so you can dress it up or dress it down to suit any occasion.

A few of my favorite accompaniments include fresh fruit like strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, or blueberries, whipped cream for topping your dessert with homemade whipped cream, or store-bought for an easy yet delicious option.

Lastly, you can try it with chocolate sauce. Just drizzle some melted chocolate sauce over it before serving. This decadent treat will undoubtedly be a hit with the kids!
