How to Make Costco Pizza Better? Here Are 7 Easy Tricks!

How To Make Costco Pizza Better
Share on:

When I feel tired, uninspired, or just lazy, Costco pizza is usually my go-to solution. The only conditions I have in those moments are easy, delicious, and quick, which it meets with no problem. Still, I sometimes like to add my own touch to this meal, so I’ve discovered a few effortless upgrades I want to share with you. So, how to make Costco pizza better?

To improve your Costco pizza, add your own toppings, cook it on a pizza stone, add some garlic powder, dip it in sauce, drizzle balsamic glaze, serve it with a salad, or cut it into smaller pieces.

The best thing about Costco pizza is that you get it premade; all you need to do is pop it in the oven and wait, and you get a full-blown restaurant-quality dish. What’s even better, you can easily make it even more delicious. I will share my best and tested ideas to improve this premade delicacy!

Add Your Own Toppings

Costco pizza comes in three main varieties, pepperoni, cheese, and pepperoni and cheese. Each variety is delicious, but if you want to make it even more delicious, add a few toppings of your own. There are customized pizzas and frozen ones as well, but they are available in select Costcos.

I like to enrich my cheese pizza by adding bacon and mushrooms, and I add fresh peppers and olives to the pepperoni variety. The cheese and pepperoni pizza always tastes better with some extra cheese and pepperoni, not that it lacks them.

You can add your favorite toppings and mix and match as you like. Costco pizza is one of my premade pizza favorites because it’s excellent to combine in many ways, so whatever you decide goes.

Cook It on a Pizza Stone

You can significantly improve Costco pizza by cooking it on a pizza stone. I was skeptical before I tried this idea because I thought it wouldn’t make much of a difference. But as it turns out, it does.

The pizza stone distributes heat evenly and cooks the pizza on the inside. The result is a juicier pizza that is crispy on the edges and incredibly soft in the middle. If you feel too lazy to do anything else, definitely give this idea a try.

Add Some Garlic Powder

If you don’t feel like experimenting too much, try sprinkling some garlic powder on your Costco pizza. It will do a great job bringing out its natural flavors without overwhelming the overall taste. For me, this idea works best on the cheese pizza variety, but you can try it with the other ones too.

I also like adding chopped parsley or cilantro for some extra crunch and a splash of color.

Dip It in Sauce

Add garlic powder dip in sauce or bake your Costco pizza on a pizza stone

If you like your Costco pizza juicier, sauce it up. This is a very simple idea, and even the most basic solution, such as adding ketchup, works excellently. A nice sauce can always brighten things up, whether you’re working with cheese, pepperoni, or pepperoni and cheese pizza.

My favorite is marinara sauce, but when I don’t feel like making it, I just whip up some mayo and ketchup and dip my pizza in it. You can go as simple or as complicated as you want; you’ll love the result in any case!

Drizzle Balsamic Glaze

Balsamic glaze is an excellent way to improve Costco pizza, especially since you will be giving it a Mediterranean touch. Both sweet, savory, and slightly sour, balsamic glaze will add an extra layer of flavor to your pizza, as well as bring out its natural tastes.

I prefer my balsamic glaze with a tad of olive oil to make it even smoother, but you can absolutely skip this step if that’s what you like. You can also add some fresh arugula on top of your pizza for an even more pronounced Mediterranean feel. Delicious!

Serve with a Salad

If you don’t want to change the taste but still want to spruce the flavor up a little, the safest idea is to pair it with a salad. This way, your Costco pizza will remain intact, and you will still infuse it with extra flavor and possibly some crunch.

My first choice is always rocket salad, but I also like the combo with Caprese or lettuce and cherry tomato salad. Still, make sure you avoid salads that contain lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, or similar, as they won’t sit well with your pizza.

Cut Into Smaller Pieces

If you are in absolutely no mood to do anything and put in any type of effort, cutting your Costco pizza into smaller pieces might just do the trick. It is a known fact that the smaller the pieces, the more flavorful they are, and that applies to pizza too.

So, next time you’re having Costco pizza, cut it into smaller pieces and be as lazy as you want; it works perfectly for me.
