Kids notice everything, especially what ends up on their parents’ plates. Adriana Lima has said that realization changed how she approaches food once her daughters got old enough to actually pay attention.

Her own eating habits ended up doing more of the teaching than any lecture ever could. Here is what that actually looks like day to day.

The Meals That Fill Most of Her Day

Mornings usually start with something simple like an omelet or a bowl of oatmeal. Afternoons and evenings tend to revolve around grilled meats, grilled vegetables, rice and beans, a pattern that repeats often enough to function as a default rather than a special occasion meal.

Smoothies, fresh fruit and vegetables round things out, along with herbal teas she says help her feel purified and a daily vitamin. None of it requires a chef or a complicated shopping list, just repetition.

Treats Still Have a Seat at the Table

Lima has been upfront that she is not interested in cutting out the foods she actually loves. Chocolate and coconut cake come up repeatedly when she talks about her favorite things to eat, and pancakes make an occasional breakfast appearance too.

That balance seems intentional rather than accidental, since a household built entirely around restriction is a hard thing to model for kids long term. Treats stay in the rotation, they just are not the default.

Why She Watches Her Own Plate So Closely

As her daughters got older, Lima has said she started noticing how closely they were copying her everyday habits, food included. That realization is part of why she now pays closer attention to modeling the version of eating she actually wants them to pick up.

She has also tied healthy eating to a broader message about body image and mental wellness, including things like meditation, rather than treating food as a stand alone topic. The goal seems to be less about a specific meal plan and more about the overall example being set.

None of it looks especially strict from the outside, just a fairly ordinary rotation of grilled dinners and the occasional slice of cake. Sometimes the clearest lesson is simply letting kids watch what actually ends up on your own plate.
