Are you looking for a quick and easy Greek yogurt bread recipe? You’ve landed in the right place! If you’re a frequent internet user, there’s no way you haven’t stumbled across Greek yogurt bagels—this recipe takes that viral idea and transforms it into high-protein Greek yogurt burger buns, cooked to perfection in an air fryer for even faster results.

I love them because they’re a breeze to whip up, tastier and lighter than store-bought buns, and leave me feeling great after eating—so much so that I often make them for road trip sandwiches.

Without further ado, here’s everything you need to know!

How to Make 2-Ingredient Greek Yogurt Bread?

These Greek yogurt burger buns are incredibly easy, requiring just self-rising flour and Greek yogurt (plus a pinch of salt and seasoning) to create a soft, fluffy dough in minutes.

Simply mix, shape, sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, and pop them in the air fryer—no complicated steps or long rising times needed!

After baking, let them sit for 10 minutes to soften up, as they become even more tender and delightful with a little rest. This step is really important, so don’t skip it!

What Fillings to Use?

The beauty of these buns is their versatility—here are some of my favorite fillings to inspire you:

  • For a breakfast sandwich, try avocado, a fried egg, and crispy bacon.
  • For lunch or road trips, go with light mayo, lettuce, turkey deli meat, cheese, and pickles.
  • Craving a high-protein burger? Load them up with burger sauce, lettuce, onion, pickles, and a burger patty.
  • If seafood’s your thing, salmon, avocado, and cream cheese make a luxurious combo.

But the options are truly endless!

How to Store Them?

These buns store beautifully at room temperature. Keep them in an airtight container or a resealable bag, and they’ll stay fresh and fluffy for up to 2 days. No refrigeration needed—just grab one whenever you’re ready to enjoy!

Easy Air Fryer Greek Yogurt Buns Recipe

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 3⅓ cups self-rising flour, 400 g
  • 1⅔ cups Greek yogurt, 400 g
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Everything bagel seasoning to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine the self-rising flour, Greek yogurt, and salt to form a dough. On a floured surface, divide the dough into 8 equal portions.
  • Knead each portion briefly and shape it into a ball.
  • Flatten each ball into a burger bun shape, then sprinkle the top generously with everything bagel seasoning.
  • Cook in an air fryer at 350°F (180°C) for 13 minutes. (Alternatively, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 15-18 minutes, until golden.)
  • Remove the buns from the air fryer and let them rest for 10 minutes to soften. Slice and fill with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!

Notes

If using all-purpose flour instead of self-rising, add 2 tsp of baking powder to the dough. Resting the buns after cooking is key for a softer texture.
