There is a certain kind of celebrity who seems to exist outside of time. Drake is one of them. From the Degrassi kid to ‘God’s Plan’ to headlining festivals and filling arenas a decade and a half later, something about Champagne Papi has stayed eerily, almost suspiciously unchanged.

The bone structure is the same. The skin is the same. The energy is the same. And given that the internet has noticed and will not let it go, the obvious question is finally worth asking properly: what does this man actually put in his body?

He Gave Up Meat

The most significant dietary revelation Drake has ever made came not in an interview but mid-game. During a live Twitch stream with Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, the two were chatting about pizza toppings when Drake dropped it casually: “Chicken and pineapple on a pizza could work, but I don’t eat meat anymore.”

That was it. No announcement, no press release, just the biggest rapper in the world confirming over a game of Fortnite that he had quietly gone vegetarian.

Plant-based diets are consistently linked to lower inflammation, better skin, and slower cellular aging, which starts to feel relevant when you look at the man’s face in photos from a decade apart.

He Cut Refined Carbs Hard

Before the vegetarian era, Drake was already working toward a leaner, more sculpted look with the help of his longtime trainer and friend Jonny Roxx. The key dietary move was cutting refined carbs, especially pasta, which had always been a weakness for him and his whole team.

Roxx told Glamour directly: “Italian food is probably one of our whole team’s favorite things. But cutting down on that really helped with his cutting phase.” That one adjustment helped Drake drop significant weight and sharpen his physique in a way that was visible on every stage he stepped onto.

He Eats Clean Most of the Time

Drake’s everyday diet is built around what his trainer describes as high-protein, moderate-fat, and low-carbohydrate foods. When he is building size, he brings carbs back in to fuel muscle growth. When he is cutting, they come back out.

His 34th birthday spread, documented by Vanity Fair, offered a revealing glimpse into what he actually approves at the table: grilled cauliflower with raisins alongside the mac and cheese. Even at a birthday party, vegetables made the menu.

He Drinks Less Than You Think

For a man who has literally launched his own whiskey brand, Drake has reportedly pulled back significantly on alcohol. His trainer noted the move as a smart one, and Drake’s reported preference is for white wine spritzers when he does drink, a lower-calorie, lower-alcohol option compared to the bottles you see in music videos.

Alcohol accelerates skin aging, disrupts sleep, and spikes blood sugar, so quietly dialing it back is one of the most underrated longevity decisions anyone in the entertainment industry can make.

He Takes His Skincare Seriously

The diet does not work in isolation. In January 2024, Drake posted a late-night wind-down video that went viral for a very specific reason. After a cold plunge and a shower, he was spotted carefully applying the Caudalie Beauty Elixir Face Mist, a celebrity-approved toning spray known for tightening pores and delivering a radiant glow. The internet noticed immediately.

He has also been spotted using Peter Thomas Roth complexion correction pads in other behind-the-scenes moments. A board-certified dermatologist who reacted to the video on TikTok praised Drake for sending the message that men should take a solid skincare routine seriously.

He Stays Physically Active

The clean eating has always been paired with consistent movement. His trainer Roxx describes a circuit-based approach built on push-ups, dips, and pull-ups in a structured ratio, combined with cardio and compound lifts. Drake also plays basketball regularly, even on tour, and the physicality of performing live is its own full-body workout.

The pattern that emerges across all of it is less mysterious than it looks from the outside. No meat, minimal refined carbs, clean fuel, a skincare routine he actually sticks to, and a body that is asked to perform at a high level often enough to stay sharp.

It does not quite explain the face, but it explains quite a lot of everything else.
