Freshly meals are a nifty way to have a nice home-cooked meal when you don’t have the time, energy, or the will to cook it for yourself. Freshly meals offer a wide variety of premade meals delivered to your door. It works pretty easily; you just select a meal plan and order, and they will deliver them to your doorstep. However, since you will be ordering at least four meals, which is the minimum amount of meals you can order, you will need to store them somehow. So, can you freeze Freshly meals, and how to reheat them?

You can freeze and refrigerate Freshly meals as regularly prepared meals. They remain cool for 12 hours after delivery, so there is no need to store them if they are in the original box for 12 hours. In the fridge, they last for five to seven days, and in the freezer, they last longer.

As simple as Freshly meals are to store, it doesn’t hurt to have a few tricks up your sleeve so that they can last you longer. In the following paragraphs, I will explain how to store, freeze and reheat Freshly meals and how long they last under different storing conditions.

How to Store Freshly Meals?

Since Freshly meals are cooked by professional chefs and don’t contain any artificial shelf-life prolonging additives, they don’t have a very long shelf life and must be properly stored. Thanks to the packaging, your Freshly meals will remain perfectly safe for 12 hours after arriving at your doorstep.

Still, you need to remember that when they arrive, they have been prepared for about 60 hours, so if you consider that time, they have a pretty long-lasting duration because they are packed so well.

After you open your Freshly meals, you need to store them in the fridge. If you have seafood, it is recommended to polish off that one first, as seafood will spoil faster than other foods.

It is easy to store your unopened meals, so just place them in the fridge in their original packaging, and they will be fine for five to seven days. If you are storing leftovers of an already opened Freshly meal, you either store it in the fridge in its original box but wrap it with plastic foil or transfer it into an airtight container.

How to Reheat Frozen Freshly Meals?

Since Freshly meals are regularly cooked, you can treat them just like you would a meal you would cook at home. Before popping your frozen Freshly meal into the oven, microwave, or another appliance, make sure you let them thaw at room temperature.

After they have sufficiently thawed, you can reheat the Freshly meals in the microwave by setting the timer to a few two-minute intervals. If you use the oven, set the temperature to medium and let the meal reheat for about ten to 15 minutes.

The best thing about Freshly meals is that the packagings are microwave-friendly, so you will have no trouble at all reheating them this way. If you are using the oven, removing them from the package is safest and placing them on a tray.

If you reheat your Freshly meal using another appliance, take it out of the packaging and place it into a bowl or a safe vessel for that particular appliance. Also, make sure the temperature is not too high.

How Long Do Freshly Meals Last?

Freshly meals last up to 60 hours after making, so 48 hours for delivery and 12 hours at your doorstep. You are likely to have meals left intact after the grace period of the initial 12 hours, so prolonging their life is necessary.

At room temperature, your Freshly meals can last for another two hours, including when they are on your table. This is because Freshly meals are all-natural meals without any life-prolonging additives, so they are highly perishable. Therefore, don’t leave them out at room temperature for more than two hours.

In the fridge, your Freshly meals can last for about two days if opened and properly stored. In the original package, your Freshly meals will be safe and sound for about five to seven days.

In the freezer, whether opened or unopened, your Freshly meals will be safe and perfectly retrievable for a month. After this period, they may remain safe, but their quality could diminish due to the low temperature.

Are Freshly Meals Good After the Expiration Date?

Never forget to check the expiration date on the packaging label. Never experiment with the best by date, as Freshly meals are highly perishable because they don’t contain any shelf-life prolonging additives. Even if the meal doesn’t show any signs of spoilage, do not tamper with the expiration date and discard the meals that are past the best before date.
