An actress best known for intense, dramatic roles is not who most people would expect to also be genuinely entertaining behind a stove. Florence Pugh has built a whole separate following around exactly that.

Her cooking videos have earned a real, dedicated audience of their own, separate from anything she has done on screen. Keep reading to see how it all started and why fans cannot get enough.

The Series Started As Something Casual During Lockdown

Pugh’s cooking series, which she calls Cooking with Flo, began in 2020 as something casual filmed on her Instagram Stories during the early stages of the pandemic. Wearing her now signature yellow apron, she walks viewers through each dish step by step while cracking jokes along the way.

What started as a way to pass the time during lockdown turned into something people actively looked forward to. The series has gone on hiatus more than once for what Pugh has simply called life, only to return to enthusiastic fans each time.

The Dishes Get Genuinely Ambitious

The dishes featured go well beyond simple, beginner level cooking. Over the course of the series, Pugh has made homemade marmalade, pasta from scratch, tzatziki and ratatouille, along with courgetti, essentially zucchini noodles, tossed with shrimp.

That range suggests genuine cooking skill rather than a passing hobby picked up for content. She has even been invited to show off her technique on Vogue’s YouTube channel, where she prepared a garlic crostini from scratch.

Mistakes Are Part Of The Charm

Part of what makes the series so watchable is that Pugh does not try to hide when something goes wrong. In one episode, she forgot to add the onions and calmly walked viewers through fixing the mistake instead of starting over or editing it out.

That kind of unpolished honesty is rare for a celebrity cooking video, and it is a big part of the appeal. Watching someone recover from a real mistake in real time feels a lot more relatable than a flawless, produced cooking segment ever could.

Fans Have Been Begging For An Actual Show

The demand for more has become impossible to ignore. Pugh has said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that a full Cooking with Flo television show is genuinely in the works, after earlier conversations about the idea had been paused due to shooting schedules.

That kind of momentum, built entirely from casual Instagram videos, says a lot about how much of an audience she has built around food specifically. What started as a lockdown distraction has turned into something with real potential to become its own show.

So while Florence Pugh will always be known first for her film work, her cooking videos have proven she has genuine range behind the stove too. Sometimes the most unexpected side of a celebrity turns out to be the one fans end up loving just as much.
