Snoop Dogg built an entire persona around gin, juice and never taking anything too seriously. His actual kitchen at home tells a slightly different story these days.

Between a real cookbook, a rotating cast of family members with very different diets, and a fridge that sounds suspiciously like everyone else’s, the rapper’s food life has quietly become one of the more surprising parts of his public persona. He has talked about it more openly than most people would expect.

None of it involves anything particularly glamorous or exotic. Here is what actually ends up on the table at Snoop Dogg’s house, according to the man himself.

The Sneaky Way He Got Everyone Eating Plant Based

Some of Snoop’s immediate family are vegan or vegetarian, and he has said they helped him rework his own eating habits as his schedule got busier. That shift eventually turned him into a genuine advocate for plant based meat, including a partnership with Beyond Meat.

Getting the rest of the family on board took a bit of strategy. “I just slid it on them. I snuck it in,” he explained in a promotional video reported by Plant Based News.

His approach was simple, serve it first and explain later. Once people realized what they had actually enjoyed eating, he has said, most of them kept asking for more.

What’s Actually In The Fridge

Despite the fame, Snoop’s actual pantry looks remarkably ordinary, stocked with mac and cheese, hot sauce, honey, canned tuna and soy sauce, according to a breakdown from Mashed. His fridge rarely runs low on orange juice, milk, cheese, mustard and butter.

He has also published his own cookbook, filled with recipes like baked mac and cheese and fried bologna sandwiches. It is a menu that reads more like comfort food from a childhood kitchen than anything associated with celebrity dining.

Family Meals Still Come Down To The Classics

When it comes to actually gathering everyone together, Snoop keeps things simple on purpose. He has said his usual move for family gatherings is cooking party wings and French fries, telling Yahoo Life it is really about keeping the grandkids happy.

His own drink of choice has shifted too, swapping the gin and juice from his younger years for vodka mixed with fruit punch. Even his all time favorite meal keeps it relatively unfussy, a Wagyu steak once cooked for him by his longtime friend Martha Stewart.

For someone whose public image runs on charisma and cool, Snoop’s actual eating habits sound remarkably down to earth. Plant based meat sneaked in alongside party wings and boxed mac and cheese, all served up by a guy who clearly does not take any of it too seriously.
