What is the Best Way to Melt Chocolate for Mold?

Melting chocolates for mold is not a very difficult process. All you need to do is follow the steps on the list below, and you will get the best result.

1. Melt the Chocolate

Chocolates typically melt at 100°F. For this to happen, you need to chop up the chocolate bars in a bowl and then place them in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

When the set time elapses, stir it with a spatula so that it is smooth and even.

Now put it back in the microwave, but wait till the chocolate temperature rises to 115°F.

Bring it out and stir till the temperature is reduced to 90°F.

2. Pour Carefully Into Your Mold

At a temperature of 90°F, carefully pour the melted chocolate into your molds. You can do this with a small spoon or anything that fits the mold entrance.

3. Allow it to Cool

This is the last stage before your chocolate candies are ready. Here you need to be patient because it is more time-consuming than earlier steps.

Take the mold filled with chocolate into the freezer and allow it to cool for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Bring it out and enjoy.

Tips for Melting Chocolate

  • If you are melting white chocolate, ensure to add all flavoring, butter, shortening, or color extracts before you start.
  • When mixing, use a dry spoon to avoid the lumps that come with water in the chocolate.
  • Avoid using a wooden spoon. Instead, use a metal or silicon spoon because they are less likely to store moisture.
