Healthy Skillet Recipes Made with Real Ingredients
One-pan dinners are super convenient, so I selected some of my favorite healthy skillet recipes for you to check out! A nutritionally balanced dish is actually pretty simple to make – just choose the lean protein, slow-digesting carb, healthy fat source, and low-calorie, high-fiber vegetables you fancy!
I tried to select a broad selection of recipes with various types of meat and vegetables. You will find everything here, from fish and plant proteins over chicken and turkey to beef – there is something for everyone’s taste buds! Get ready for some fantastic flavors and all from one pan!
One Skillet Mexican Quinoa
Quinoa is a fabulous protein source, as it retains all nine essential amino acids, plus it has loads of fiber, antioxidants, and minerals! When paired with black beans and a few more veggies and spices, it becomes a true delicacy and nutritive heaven.
Healthy Creamy Chicken Sausage Skillet
Even though it is processed, chicken sausage is not unhealthy, as it is not packed with fat. Plus, this dish calls for tons of veggies like carrots, shallots, asparagus, peas, and cannellini beans, so you know it is rich in micronutrients and fiber.
One Skillet Mexican Rice Casserole
This is a bombastic dish, full of flavors and spice! It is brown rice-based, so you have slow-digestion carbs along with cheese and veggies. I love the addition of chilies, smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, and salsa!
Spinach and Cheese Breakfast Skillet
This is the ultimate breakfast skillet with russet potatoes, bacon, baby spinach, eggs, and cheese. If you want less fat and calories, you can definitely skip bacon, but it truly skyrockets the taste.
Chicken and Spinach Skillet Pasta with Lemon and Parmesan
This is my favorite pasta, so I simply needed to list it here! It is perfectly balanced both nutrition and flavor-wise, as the recipe calls for whole-wheat penne pasta, olive oil, chicken breasts, garlic, lemon, fresh spinach, and parmesan cheese.
Healthy Cookie Skillet
You can prepare healthy, delish dessert in a skillet, as well! This is a “classic” cookie made with almond flour and butter, some chocolate chips, eggs, and coconut sugar. It isn’t rich in artificial sweeteners but in healthy fats instead!
Tuscan White Bean Skillet
The Tuscan region has some of the best foods in the world, including this hearty white bean stew! It is a fusion of sun-dried tomatoes, white Cannellini beans, tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and herbs.
Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet
Turkey and sweet potato are staple ingredients of a healthy diet because of their incredible health benefits. I love to additionally crisp up sweet potatoes to add a tiny bit of caramelly smack that goes impeccaböy with chili flakes and garlic.
30-Minute Mediterranean Fish Skillet
This is a dish of my childhood – white fish fillets in olive oil, white wine, and veggies. Garnishing with feta and fresh herbs is optional but highly recommended, as that is where the unique flavors of the Mediterranean lay!
Healthy Pumpkin Skillet Cookie
Here is one more dessert made in skillet right in time for late autumn and winter days. It is pumpkin puree-based, with almond flour, butter, and milk, spiced up with some pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. YUM!
One-Pan Zucchini and Egg Skillet
If you love a savory feast first thing in the morning (like I do), this is the perfect recipe for you! Just pan-sear some zucchini, onion, tomatoes, and spices and crack a few eggs on top, but leave the yolk runny for the best taste!
Healthy Ground Beef Vegetable Skillet
This is a top-notch last-minute dinner option that usually everyone loves! It is a blend of lean ground beef, onion, tomato, multicolor bell peppers, zucchini, and spices. You can serve this with some guacamole, nachos, or taco shells!
Healthy One-Pan Taco Breakfast Skillet
A blend of sweet potato, zucchini, corn, avocado, salsa, and eggs, sprinkled with some taco seasoning, is the recipe for a perfect Mexico-inspired dinner! Besides being incredibly delish, this is a fantastically nutritionally balanced dish you will adore.
Creamy Pesto Chicken Skillet
This will be a “merry me” dish for those who want to eat in a caloric deficit! The chicken is super tender and succulent, as it is induced with pesto, olive oil, and coconut milk. The side dish is spot on, too: zucchini noodles that are almost calorie-free!
Skillet Salmon with Orzo and Green Pea Pesto
Salmon is an omega-3s-packed star of a healthy, clean eating diet, plus it doesn’t require plenty of spices as its flavors bloom with salt and pepper only! I love orzo as the side dish, as you don’t see it very often! P.S. Pea-based pesto with parmesan and pistachios is fabulous!
Healthy Beef and Broccoli Skillet
Beef with Asia-inspired spices is by far the best one you can have, as ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and honey skyrocket their flavors! This is a dish loaded with protein, fiber, and antioxidants; just serve it with some rice, preferably brown.
Mediterranean-Style Sauteed Shrimp and Zucchini
If you’re seeking an ideal date night dish – there you have it! Shrimps coated in spices with bell peppers, zucchini, chickpeas, and cherry tomatoes are a wonderful, aromatic bite. Don’t forget lemon to freshen up the smack!
Southwest Sweet Potato, Black Bean, and Rice Skillet
This one is for all the spicy food lovers! Toss together sweet potatoes, green chiles, salsa, brown rice, black beans, and some cheese into the skillet and get ready for the hearty taste! I love the spice selection, too!
Easy Skillet Mediterranean Chicken
I saved the best for last – succulent chicken in dry white wine with cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, and red bell pepper. But, to round the taste, you will need fresh thyme, parsley, red pepper flakes, and lemon – the gems of Mediterranean cuisine.
Dear cooks, big thank you for these phenomenal yet healthy one-pan dishes! I love each one of them!
