A handful of common kitchen ingredients can double as a genuinely relaxing at-home face mask. None of these require anything beyond what’s already sitting in the fridge or pantry.

Honey and Yogurt Mask

Mix two tablespoons of plain yogurt with one tablespoon of raw honey in a small bowl until fully combined. The mixture should be thick enough to sit on skin without immediately dripping.

Apply an even layer to clean, dry skin using your fingers or a clean brush, avoiding the eye area. Let it sit for about 15 minutes while the honey works as a natural humectant and the yogurt’s mild lactic acid gently softens skin.

Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry. Skin should feel noticeably softer and more hydrated right away.

Oatmeal and Banana Mask

Mash half a ripe banana in a bowl until smooth, then stir in two tablespoons of finely ground oats until the mixture forms a thick paste. If it feels too dry, a small splash of milk helps loosen it up.

Spread the mixture evenly over clean skin, taking care around the eyes and mouth. Leave it on for about 15 minutes, giving the oats time to gently soothe skin while the banana’s natural moisture soaks in.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water, using gentle circular motions as the oats rinse away for a light, natural exfoliation. Follow with a regular moisturizer.

Avocado and Honey Mask

Mash half a ripe avocado until smooth, then mix in one tablespoon of honey until fully blended. The natural fats in avocado make this one of the richer, more deeply moisturizing options on this list.

Apply a generous layer to clean skin and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. The combination works especially well for skin that’s feeling dry or tight, since both ingredients are built around hydration rather than exfoliation.

Rinse with warm water and gently pat skin dry. Skin should feel noticeably softer and less tight afterward.

Turmeric and Yogurt Mask

Stir a small pinch of turmeric powder into two tablespoons of plain yogurt, mixing until the color is fully blended and even. A little turmeric goes a long way, so start with less than seems necessary.

Apply a thin, even layer to clean skin and leave it on for no more than 10 minutes. Turmeric can leave a temporary yellow tint on the skin, which fades within a day, so this one is best used on a night without plans immediately afterward.

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, using a washcloth if any color lingers. The yogurt’s mild acidity pairs with turmeric’s calming reputation for a gentle, brightening effect.

Egg White and Lemon Mask

Whisk one egg white with a few drops of lemon juice until slightly frothy. This combination is best suited for oilier skin types, since egg white has a natural tightening effect as it dries.

Apply a thin layer to clean skin, avoiding the eyes and mouth, and let it dry completely for about 15 minutes. Skin will feel visibly tighter as the mask sets, which is normal and temporary.

Rinse with warm water, gently working the dried mask loose rather than pulling at it. Follow with a moisturizer, since the tightening effect can leave skin feeling slightly dry afterward.
