black pepperpinch, freshly ground
Instructions
Cranberry Sauce
Place the cranberries in a colander and rinse them. Pick out and discard any damaged or bruised cranberries.
Put the orange juice and sugar in a medium saucepan on high heat and bring to a boil. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
Add the cranberries to the pot and return to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries have burst.
Once the cranberries have burst you can leave the cranberry sauce as is.
Remove the pot from heat. Let cool completely at room temperature, then transfer to a bowl to chill in the refrigerator.
Cranberry sauce on the turkey meat in your sandwich is like a mini-version of your Thanksgiving table. You will instantly get that wholesome, warm holiday feeling in your mouth and want more of the same.
Guacamole
Cut the avocados in half. Remove the pit. Score the inside of the avocado with a blunt knife and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Place in a bowl.
Using a fork, roughly mash the avocado.
Sprinkle with salt and lime juice.
Add the chopped onion, cilantro, black pepper, and chilis.
If making a few hours ahead, place plastic wrap on the surface of the guacamole and press down to cover it to prevent air from reaching it.
You can smear the guacamole inside your sandwich and enjoy the refreshing guacamole taste that will pleasantly surprise your taste buds.
