Baking tray
- 24 medium-sized hot dogs (about 1.32 pounds)
- 1 package of ready-rolled puff pastry
- Ketchup or mustard (for the eyes)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) while you get the mummies ready.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Use a pizza cutter to slice the puff pastry into thin strips, about 1/5 inch wide—thinner if you can manage.
Carefully wrap two to three strips around each hot dog, leaving a small gap at one end for the mummy’s “face.” Arrange the strips at different angles and spaces to mimic ragged mummy wrappings.
Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
Let the hot dogs cool slightly, then add two dots of ketchup or mustard for eyes using a toothpick for precision.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
