Betty Crocker Cut Out Cookies

Author: Laura Bais
Betty Crocker has a variety of cookie mixes, but the best one for cut-out cookies is Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix. However, feel free to experiment with Snickerdoodle Cookie Mix and others. Just keep in mind that not every cookie dough can be easily rolled out, so you will need to add more flour and an egg.

Equipment

  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • Cookie cutters of your choice

Ingredients

  • 1 package Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1,5 sticks Butter Leave butter at room temperature for about 2 hours before using.
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Flour or powdered sugar You will use one of these to sprinke the surface so your dough won't stick to it.

Instructions

  • Beat the eggs with softened butter.
  • Add lemon zest from one lemon and vanilla extract, then mix again.
  • Add Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix and flour. Blend all the ingredients until you get a nice dough.
  • Leave the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle some flour or powdered sugar on your counter and spread the dough to 1/4 inch thick. Put some flour on your rolling pin, too.
  • Use cutters to make various shapes, then carefully remove extra dough. You will use that dough for another set of cookies.
  • Place the cookies on the parchment paper and bake them for about 12-14 minutes in the preheated oven at 350 °F.
  • Decorate your cookies with icing, frosting or use your favorite spread.

Notes

You can leave Betty the cookies at room temperature in an airtight container or in plastic wrap for 3 days.
