Ingredients

  • 20 pieces Oreo cookies
  • 1 ¼ cup Red Velvet Cake Mix like Betty Crocker
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup milk
  • vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Combine cake mix with the remaining ingredients – oil, milk, and egg – and leave it for 15 minutes for everything to blend nicely. The mixture will gain a thicker, foamy texture so it will be easier to work with.
  • Pour the oil into a frying pan to heat up on medium heat. Make sure to be at least a finger deep so Oreos can float in it.
  • Dip each Oreo cookie in the batter and carefully place them into the heated oil. Fry them on each side for 30 seconds, then put them on a paper towel to soak the extra grease.
  • Serve them with a side of vanilla bourbon ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

To store Red Velvet Fried Oreos, I recommend keeping them in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge. They'll stay fresh for up to 2 days this way.
