January 2016 Income Report and Traffic Report

This is the income and traffic report for Julies Cafe Bakery January 2016. I have included all income and expenses along with traffic reports. Welcome along the journey with me as I grow

There have been a few obstacles to overcome like the domain being banned from Pinterest for a few weeks which saw a massive drop in traffic and a great deal of anxiety from me as i tried to get it unblocked. To help everyone else who may be in the same situation I wrote a post here called How To Get Your Domain Unblocked From Pinterest. This article is a must read as it will not only show you how to get a domain unblocked but also how to prevent it.

Lessons learned this month – never stop posting and never give up. Overcome each obstacle and as you move on they will be further and further behind you. Also remember the skills you learn in the process can help others so – Share!

This makes a total income for the month of January of $473.10 most of which came from leads generated for the cooking, baking and hospitality courses found here. The course info is free and the standard very high if you want beginner or advanced skills in baking, cooking hospitality, management, catering and so much more. Take a look here.

I included WPTouch Pro here but i think i may have purchased earlier on. Its a requirement for mobile sites as it easily transforms my site into a mobile friendly site so necessary for Google Mobile rankings.  It makes it so easy to have a mobile site within minutes.

Total expenses amount to $188.28 leaving a profit  for January 2016 of $284.82

Here is where we delve into the traffic for the site. This is where really all of the work goes into producing a profitable blog.

traffic January 2016

This is looking alot more healthier over December’s report. Bounce rate is down at 62% which is really great. Average time on site is well over 1 minute which again for a food blog is really very good. At over 30,000 page views we are over twice the amount of the previous month. But alot of this is due to our domain being unblocked in Pinterest.

We finally have a write up about our experience with getting our domain unblocked and show you how we did it. Full report is called How To Get Your Domain Unblocked On Pinterest.

Like i said with previous Income Reports we have a little trick to get our bounce rate low and Page views higher which i might reveal in future Income reports – so stay tuned.

Pinterest is still our main source of traffic. We get a lot of Direct Traffic as well and it may be coming from our Instagram account, but I have to check into this further. Facebook consistently sends us a small amount of Traffic and interestingly enough Blessthismessplease refers a few visitors as well.

Expenses were a little higher than expected with a purchase of a mobile plugin WPTouch Pro but at least income was also up. Visitors are well up over last month but this is mostly because we had our domain unblocked by Pinterest. Just goes to show “Dont put all your eggs into one basket!” I am trying to diversify the traffic and would hope that Google would give a bit more weight to the site so we can see more Search Rankings.

If i have anything to take away from this I would say just keep plodding on. Big things start from small beginnings 🙂

Keep an eye out for the February income report coming soon

I’m Julie. This is where my love of cupcakes, digital photography as well as writing comes to life! How did this recipe thing all begin? In November of 2012, I made the decision that I needed to keep a log of my recipes, so I started a simple recipe blog. This beautiful collection of cupcakes and cafe delights continues to grow every week and I can’t wait to see where it is 5 years down the road. My grandma encouraged all of my baking. At family gatherings with well over 250 individuals the midst of absolutely no where, she consistently was able to create perfect cherry cobblers along with other goodies for dessert over the campfire. It seemed to be like magic for me.
