This recipe is one of my mothers favorite recipes. She used to make it often and I have fond memories of her always in the kitchen baking. I would come home from school to a house full of delicious smells. I don't see the gem irons in the shops these days. They are solid cast iron to withstand the heat. If you have no gem iron you may be able to use a muffin tray. Honey butter gems taste really good if you cut them longways and put a dab of butter onto them. The irons are so hot when you put the mixture into them they don't take long to cook. These honey butter gems are super simple to make and they don't require a lot of ingredients. Here are the steps below: Ingredients for the Honey Butter Gems Butter the gem irons then place into preheated oven to melt the butter while preparing the gem mixture. Cream the Butter and Sugar Add the dry ingredients alternatively with the milk until you have the right consistency. The butter should be melted ready for the mixture to be placed into the gem irons.
